Main Street Market - Open Year Round

Image

Main Street Marketplace is an open-air market open 365 days a year.  The costs start at $10 per day or $200 monthly, which allows you to keep your same space and leave your set up or food truck all month long.  We are seeking food trucks, produce vendors, pop-up retailers, and start up businesses to vend.  Daily rates are increased during special events including the Back the Blue Yard Sale ($20), Independence Day Celebration ($50), and Small Town Christmas ($50).  Monthly rates are always $200 and include any special event fees during that month.

Vendors can register online or by returning the registration form to City Hall. If downloading the Vendor Registration, please return with your check payable to City of Sweetwater at the following address: City Hall, P.O. Box 267, Sweetwater, TN  37874

Sweetwater 150th Celebration

Sweetwater 150th Celebration

With the arrival of the new year, Sweetwater will celebrate its 150th birthday this year!  Did you know the history of Sweetwater truly began with the construction of the East Tennessee, Virginia and Georgia Railroad (ETV&G)? This rail line later became part of the larger Southern Railway system. It made Sweetwater more relevant by bringing goods and passengers to the area. The arrival of the railroad in Sweetwater helped the town emerge as an important regional center for agriculture and commerce. The Sweetwater Depot played a large role in connecting travelers to larger nearby cities like Chattanooga and Knoxville in the late 1800s.  Present day, the Sweetwater Train Depot is a replica of the original depot that has been beautifully renovated to serve as the visitor center with a nod to the earlier importance of the railroad for the development of the town. This is the reason our first celebratory event will be held at the depot where it all started! There are several ways you can join in commemorating the past, enjoying the present, and pouring into the future of our small town. Much time and effort has been expended in creating a fun lineup of activities and events that will take place all year round in 2025.

The first event is our Candlelight Kickoff Ceremony on January 9, 2025, at the Train Depot in Sweetwater, Tennessee. Join us at 6pm for an evening you won’t want to miss, including refreshments, a choir, and opportunities to shop commemorative coins, 150th celebration shirts and mugs, and order your Sweetwater photo book! We hope you make plans to attend.
